Fort Trojica is an Austro-Hungarian fortress which holds a great importance in an historical as well as cultural meaning for the coastal area of Montenegro. The fortress - currently in critical condition - is situated on the pass that connects two municipalities, Kotor and Tivat, therefore having had an important geo-strategic position. In recent time, the remains of this old three-floor fortress have been partially restored and integrated with a new terrace. The new terrace is designed as a ground floor and semicircular fort of extremely fine cut stone.
Thanks to Adrifort, this ancient site will be put into function again after a conservation study prepared by the Institute for Conservation of Kotor. Within the research and the preparation of the documentation a team of experts will explore the materials and structures of the fortress itself in order to allow the Municipality of Kotor to once again have practical use of this historical treasure.
